How Pali complements your practice
Think of Pali as a structured, evidence-based workbook your clients carry in their pocket, reinforcing what you teach in session.
Between-session support
Clients can practise skills, journal, and reflect between appointments, reinforcing what they learn in therapy.
94 short courses
A comprehensive curriculum covering attachment, communication, self-worth, boundaries, conflict resolution, and more. Each course follows a 4-stage clinical flow.
Daily practice & check-ins
Guided daily exercises help clients build consistent habits. Progress tracking shows growth over time.
Future: therapist integration
We're building tools to let therapists assign specific courses and exercises as homework, track client progress, and integrate Pali directly into treatment plans.
Grounded in clinical research
Pali uses ideas from published relationship research and makes them easier to try between sessions.
Attachment Theory
Bowlby & Ainsworth
Pali uses validated attachment assessments to help users identify their relational patterns and build more secure behaviours over time.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Aaron Beck
Thought records, cognitive reframing, and communication skills training help users challenge unhelpful patterns between sessions.
Gottman Method
Drs. John & Julie Gottman
Principles like building love maps, managing conflict constructively, and strengthening emotional bids are woven into daily exercises.
Emotionally Focused Therapy
Dr. Sue Johnson
EFT-informed prompts help users understand emotional cycles in relationships and develop healthier ways of connecting.
Safe to recommend to your clients
We built Pali with clinical responsibility in mind. Here's why you can recommend it with confidence.
Never a replacement for therapy
Pali is explicitly positioned as a complement to professional care (not a substitute). The app actively encourages users to seek professional help when needed.
Crisis detection built in
Pali includes automated safety protocols. If a user indicates risk of self-harm or abuse, the app immediately surfaces crisis resources and helpline numbers.
Validated screening tools only
We use clinically approved instruments like WHO-5 (wellbeing) and CSI-16 (relationship satisfaction), but never diagnostic tools that require clinical supervision.
Evidence-based content
Every course, exercise, and prompt in Pali is grounded in peer-reviewed research. No pseudoscience, no unsubstantiated claims.
Your clients' data is protected
Privacy isn't an afterthought, it's foundational. Here's exactly how we protect your clients.
Private by default
All user data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Chats are processed to let Pali reply. They are not used to train outside AI models.
No data sold, ever
We do not sell, trade, or monetise user data. Our business model is subscriptions, not advertising.
GDPR compliant
Full GDPR compliance with data minimisation, right to erasure, and transparent data processing. Users can delete their data at any time.
90-day data retention
Chat data is automatically purged after 90 days. Users have full control over their information through in-app privacy settings.
The future: therapist tools inside Pali
We're building direct integration between therapists and the Pali app. Here is what we're thinking about next:
Assign specific courses and exercises as homework
View client progress and completed exercises (opt-in)
Receive session prep summaries from client check-ins
Integrate Pali exercises into treatment plans
Custom recommendations based on therapeutic goals
Secure messaging for exercise-related follow-ups
Frequently asked questions
Will Pali try to replace me as a therapist?
Absolutely not. Pali is designed as a between-session companion that reinforces therapeutic work. It explicitly tells users it is not a replacement for professional care, and actively encourages them to work with a therapist.
What if my client is in crisis while using Pali?
Pali has built-in crisis detection. If a user's input suggests risk of self-harm or danger, the app immediately surfaces local crisis resources and emergency helpline numbers. It does not attempt to handle crises itself.
What clinical frameworks does Pali use?
Pali's content is grounded in Attachment Theory (Bowlby & Ainsworth), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (Beck), the Gottman Method, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (Sue Johnson). All exercises and courses reference peer-reviewed research.
Can I see what my clients are doing on Pali?
Not currently, user privacy is paramount. However, we're developing an opt-in therapist integration that would allow clients to share their progress, completed exercises, and insights with their therapist directly.
How is my client's data protected?
All data is encrypted, GDPR-compliant, and never sold. Chat data is purged after 90 days. Users can delete their account and all associated data at any time.
Is there a cost to me as a therapist?
